Smart Saving : Build A Firm Base

SMART SAVING!

Before you do anything make sure to set aside three to six months of your salary aside. Why?

Firstly- you can feel assured should anything/ worst happen - you need to take significant repairs whether it is your car/house or maybe even loss of job - there is fund readily available to help you whilst you deal with your shortcomings.

Secondly - it provides you with time to make the right decisions about additional savings. For example, money invested in stock market will fluctuate up and down. Hence always invest with spare/additional savings. When you build funds on deposit means, you can begin to consider long term investment without much worry that you might need to take out during market volatility.

thrifty ways

are you looking for ways to reduce your household budget and save extra cash each month? to be thrifty, you need to look into your day to day expenses.
  1. track your spending for 2 weeks. that meaning writing it down on a piece of paper everyday. you will never know how to be thriftier until you know where your money is going.
  2. when you want to purchase anything, surf the internet first. that way you probably could compare costs and as well as online providers to find best price.
  3. switching off lights and electric appliances in your home when you're not using them. during the day, open up windows and allow natural light instead.
  4. you can cut back on your ASTRO. you probably don't need 30 channels when you're working the whole day. no one is watching the tv while you're away! reduce your cable package and or cut it out completely and realize that you can save large chunks of money each year.
  5. do you use coupons? do check out for discounts for groceries? do you collect points on your petrol cards or shopping cards? consider using coupons on your regular shopping. quite recently, many websites offer printable coupons that you can take with you.
  6. eat at home every night. have you come across the saying eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper" by adelle davis? eat little at night and eat it at home, that way you save more while being health conscious!

What do you do with your tax refund?

Ladies and Gentle Cats, it's always exciting when after tax declaration; you get
Tax refund either deposited into your bank or receiving cheque via mailbox.
Most of you have big plans for that returned fund.

We have devised a plan for that tax refund when it cuddles on your lap

SAVE
How much do you save a month? Not everyone can afford to save, especially if what you make is enough to cover your living expenses. You must remove the idea of buying 32 LCD TV  with your RM 1600 refund instead buy second hand TV from ebay.com or mudah.com.my for half that value and save the rest. Who knows when you'll need that especially when times are bad?

PAY YOUR DEBT
Paying off your credit cards, mortgages, car payments or personal loans are simple ways how to utilize your tax refunds wisely. I'm sure you'd love to enjoy some space between payment now wouldn't you? Instead of blowing on shoes, gold and expensive dinners (what's wrong with mamak mee or the tarok's), consider settling that long awaited debts that's been killing you on monthly interests.
Do I make myself clear?

Blowing your tax refund on something you can afford is what exactly the government wants you to do. Why don't you pay for family vacation or trip in full. Visit fairs on all inclusive package and pay it full instead charging it on your credit cards. Tax refunds are exciting because it's what you worked for that year. Use that fund wisely to only buy much needed items, and settle all hanging debts.
Last but not least, if you want to blow that fund; send it over to our team here at
[thefrugalanalyst] we'll consult on how & where to invest otherwise we'll put it into our charity fund then you could claim it as charity the following year. :P

Adopting Frugal Lifestyle

Frugality this February

I presume being frugal is a skill we all need to work on vigorously. as the holidays are coming to an end, and as the dismay of the monthly payments setting in, it is time for us to practice frugality this february. Therefore it simply means free spending and buying unwanted things has to be thrown out the window. Frugality this february is a month to avoid buying things you don't need.

i.e luxury meals at restaurants, gadgets, shoes (ladies especially) and other desired items are actually things of no return on investment. :P
Given that with our rising inflation, much emphasis has to be given on saving money and buying items that are of importance.

Here are some guidelines to follow:-
NO SHOES, HANDBAGS (LADIES), CLOTHES, MAGAZINES, BOOKS, DVDS.
DO YOU REALLY NEED TO DINE OUT ALL THE TIME?
NO COSMETICS
SET UP BUDGET FOR FEBRUARY
HAVE YOU FILED YOUR TAXES?
SPEND SOME QUALITY TIME AT HOME THIS VALENTINE

Keep saying No to unwanted things this FEBRUARY.
